First time BTS owner

Hi everyone I just got my first bts recently, Quintus an 18 month old eastern.
He is currently in brumation and i have been following the instructions on the site but i cant see anything about what to look for when they are ready to come out of brumation? what should I be looking for?
I have provided him with a basking spots for a few hours a day which he has not been using but today he ate the food i offered him, is this a sign that he will be coming out of brumation soon?
