my baby Northern (only about a month and a half old) accidentally ate some carefresh bedding today after I tried giving him a waxworm as a treat (I only gave him one, I had just returned from my local feeder supplier and thought it'd be nice to give him a treat). He had it in his mouth and was walking around the cage as if he didn't know what to do with it. I looked away for just a few moments and looked back at him and noticed he had finally tried to eat the waxworm, but there was also bedding in his mouth as well. I'm not sure exactly how much he ate, but it couldn't have been too much... I tried to grab him and get it out of his mouth but by the time I picked him up it was too late.
The bedding is carefresh. Should I be extremely concerned? Is there anything I can do for him? Maybe some warm soaks?
I'm thinking about just removing particulate substrate altogether...it worries me way too much that he's gonna eat it...but at the same time I don't want to deprive him of his burrowing needs... I'm very scared right now. I own two leopard geckos as well and we take impaction very seriously for obvious reasons...
