wakey wakey time for the westerns

After 5 weeks of full shut down in a tub with a pr of gidgees its wakey wakey time,these guys pretty much shut down on me back in april,stop eating and spent most of there time curled in hide away from heat,checked there temp with temp gun and popped them back in cage,this season im not bothering with waking male first,its still quite cold here and havnt needed to do that ever with blotchies indoors in the past when i bred them,probably more important when they are returned into peak activity temps,which for me is still a couple of months away

Fingers crossed for some better results this season,ehilst they are coming out of brumation,the stumpies are replacing them in brumation tub until end of august,and a handfull of blotchies will be heading outdoors for a late brumation,now that the lowlands have bulked up a bit plus a couple of alpines

I did recently bring a trio of bluemountains alpines inside to,so will see if they do anything,wasnt happy with outdoor cage as it gets bugger all sun over winter where its situated,have a few plans to put in motion there,but will leave that till another day to jibber about,lol

Aspera tub replacements,theu have been pretty much shut down since late april to,but no heating option now untill late august,be interesting to see if staggered brumations makes much of a difference,usually they hang out till close to when outdoor stuff starts fooling around anyways

It looks like they are in tubs?? When they start going into burmation do you move them or is this a hide that you made for them?

Why do bromate your Westerns inside, and your Blotchies outside?

Because its to wet here for westerns outside,where as i live in the natural range of blotched and eastern bluetongues

Normally i just shut there lights off for brumation,but some i put in tubs to outside of cages or i may move some to another unused cage

Hmmm,bloody melb weather,brumating in tub stumpies and blotchies are active as today,checked tub temp and no wonder its 27 degrees,its bout time i move them back into there cage me thinks

Still waiting on western male to shed but there both getting more active slowly,hes getting drab so hopefully wont be long now

Thats only a few of them,few blotchies were still curled up in subsrtate,the stumpies and alpines are back in the cage,the lowlands i will stick outside to wake up slowly

Well after waking them july 30th and them slowly getting more active the male geraldton western has started shedding today,his hemipenes are quite swollen again this season so fingers crossed he starts dropping plugs and i get to witness some interest in the female

Fingers crossed for this year with occis. Lowland nigros are about the rarest blueys over here. Much undervalued I think. I think you should get some higher quality pics of these

Haha,4 days after shedding just witnessed first sperm plug droppage,cruised over to female and dropped them both on her noggin
