Can i use styrofoam and drylock to make hides?

Hi guys, i know ive posted a ton of questions but im trying to do as much as possible on my own instead of running out and buying everything at the local pet store. So please dont shoote yet.

So i plan on using drylok to seal my wood enclosure inside for moisture and a thought popped into my head. Maybr i can carve a couple of hids out of styrfoam and seal them with drylock as well.

Has anyone tried this? Im not to sure what color drylok is when its cured. But if its clear maybe i could add a layer of paint in between the layers of drylok to give it color. Or maybe dye the final layer ofbdrylok the color i want it?

Most people use styrofoam/expanding foam, then grout it, then paint (if wanted), then seal.

viewtopic.php?f=4&t=24544 shows how to do it with expanding foam and grout, I'm not sure if drylock is bts friendly so make sure to do research before using it, Good luck.

Drylok is bts friendly when dry; I have used it in an enclosure before.

Thanks for the replies , ive actually read Mimos build a couple times, amazing work. I may have to go the grout method if i cant find put how to paint the drlylock.

Painting drylok isn't hard at all; you just apply a few coats (I do 3) with a brush or roller.
