Summer 2014 Photos (DUW - Big Pictures!)

Postby Fatal_S » Mon Jul 07, 2014 2:00 pm

I finally got around to taking some new outdoor photos of many of my skinks. Outdoor photos look so much better :D

In getting these photos I was bitten once (Taz), pooped on once (Taz), and had to race across the lawn to catch runaways many times, lol. I think the pictures were worth it :)

Izuru the irian jaya is possibly pregnant (bred to Mizu):

Evita the classic northern is possibly pregnant (bred to Wasp):

Fluke the classic northern is possibly pregnant (bred to Jenga):

Jenga the caramel northern (bred to Fluke):

Trouble the caramel northern (still regaining condition after last year's litter):

Taz & Tiberius are two caramel babies from last year who are still here:

Both tried to take off on me during the photoshoot, so they got their photos taken in a bin. Taz is the stub-tail & is my personal holdback. Both are a bit spazzy (they obviously need more hands-on time), but Tiberius takes after his dad in that he's quite aggressive (thus why he's not gone to a new home yet).

Uno the merauke is growing longer and longer:

Wocket the silver tanimbar (I really need some more of these!):

Alrick the classic northern is a John Delahaye baby :) He was definitely the most bitey of the lot, but posed for some great photos:

Bomber the weirdo classic northern (my strange looking runt baby <3):

Well she really is just gorgeous! I would love love to have one of her offspring, especially if you bred her to wasp! This is Burrito, I wish I could remember who produced her, only thing I can remember is she was shipped from the west coast. lol. Pretty vague. Your two are the closest I've seen to her, I'd be in heaven if I was able to get a male from your two! Love looking at your collection :D

Thank you :D Andrew is in California, so Burrito could be from him. I love her bold colours.

Evita & Wasp tend to make some very dark looking babies that get super speckly as they grow.

Really great group of skinks Mel!
Loving the silver tanimbar.
I agree outdoor pics are great for showing their true colors. Yeah a few of mine do the old Dr. Jeckyl/ Mr. Hyde routine when out in the sunshine.

I'm glad everyone likes the tanimbar; she's my absolute favourite (don't tell the others!) :cloud9: I've always loved tannies, and Wocket is, IMO, the cream of the crop. She's friendly, calm, and stunning. Her only downside is she often pees when held. I can deal with that :)

I'm designing some outdoor pits I can set up this week. Once those are up it should hopefully be a lot easier and safer to get outdoor photos. As it is I hold the camera in one hand and the other hand is ready to grab them. On that bark background, there's a hole nearby leading under the front step. Of course that's where every skink runs for -.-'

Really beautiful collection you have there!

Given their reputation for being aggressive, I'd say having a Tannie that pees when held is no big deal. Hey, many of my Meraukes do that when initially picked up!

All my tannies pee (sometimes poop) when held, but only one is at all aggressive (and only because he's a WC nutbar and is terrified of people/other skinks/moving things). The other two are shy (one quite shy, the other just meh about people). Wocket actively comes up to the front of the tank to visit, and is just an absolute doll. Tannies were the first skink I fell in love with on this forum, and it makes me so happy to have some of my own :D

My meraukes don't usually pee thankfully. They're just apt to taking off in an attempt to hide

Are they a big peeing type? Centralians and shinglebacks seem to pee by the litre in comparison to other species here which may just have a twinkle, lol

Tannies would have to be my fave of the non aussie brigade, could be a scincoides thing, seeing how they make gigas types seem really dumb, joking, quite partial to the keis as well, and i cant lie, love all blueys
