basking log?

Postby kmelt93 » Thu Jun 12, 2014 4:21 pm

The log I bought from Amazon (see link) is taking up too much room on the non-basking side of the enclosure. Since the basking side is only supposed to have one object, can I move the log under the heat lamp? Could the wood/bark be damaging for the skink?

Someone correct me if this is a bad idea haha, but why not place the log AND a flat rock in the basking area? My skink likes both laying on his log and his rock. He enjoys options :)

I use a flat surface for basking area. I use ab12" x 12" tile from home depot in all my tanks. The tile maintains the heat well.
