BLUE TONGUE SKINKS

Hello everyone! I'm new to the forum and my name is Alexis
I have just recently purchased a baby blue tongue from Stacey and will be getting him next week and just had a few questions.
Well first of all ANY first time owner advice would be helpful
What type of bulb should I use to heat his tank and how many heat sources do I need?
When should I try feeding him for the first time?
And how fast will he grow?

You'll find a lot of good stuff there.

For the bulb, any bulb that produces heat works fine. The cheapest is a simple incandescent for heat and visible light, while the more expensive mercury vapor bulbs provide heat, visible light, and UVB light. Do a forum search for UVB, and you can use that info to decide whether or not you want to provide it.

You can feed as soon as you get him, but he may not eat.

Growth depends entirely on genetics and, more importantly, the amount you feed him and whether you brumate him or not. I recommend that you do not brumate him since you are a new owner and it is his first winter, but he may slow down and stop eating as much on his own accord. If you feed him enough, he can grow to full size within a year. If you feed him a little less, it may take him about 2 years to grow to his adult size.
