Welcome Home Baby Indigo!!!!

I don't know how I kept it quiet for a year but I was #1 on Susann's list for babies. I put my name in right after she sold out of babies last year. My husband and I chose Indigo (3. Bowser) and he arrived safe and sound in Delaware today. There was a lot of drama getting him here. I guess there was a storm in TN which delayed shipment to NJ and then he was incorrectly routed to PA and we had to pick him up in DE when he finally arrived. The lady running the desk said she hoped my "slink" was ok.
Edit: On naming: I am a chemical biologist. Coomassie is named for Coomassie Brilliant blue, a stain used to visualize proteins. I am also a fiber/fabric junkie so Indigo is named for the Indigo plant which was used for thousands of years to produce blue dyes for fiber and textiles.

Edit 2: I forgot to mention, Coomassie is a Northern and Indigo is a Merauke. I do not ever plan to breed nor do I trust Coomassie to be around other skinks. He is a sweet pet but I can see that he would be aggressive to other skinks. These are both pets and will never be bred.

Anyway, onto the pictures!

This morning started with a Netflix marathon with Coomassie to assure him that his new baby brother wouldn't bother him at all. He was trying to be cute....

After much panic, lots of phone calls, messages, and general chaos, Indigo finally arrived (perfectly fine due to Susann's awesome packing skills)

There was a small amount of huffing but after 20+ hours in a box, I can't really blame him

Susann warned me that he would be hungry so first up with lunch. He ate a lot for a little skink. The food in the pictures is the amount I usually feed Coomassie. I figured I would let him eat his fill and then stick it back in the fridge.

Next up! Play time! Considering all he went through, I'm surprised how much he wanted to run around and explore.

Finally, I tapped out. I was exhausted after being so stressed out for so long. I grabbed a few pics of him in his new home

Oh my gosh, Coomassie is so cute! He really does look a little like he was worried and wanted assurance...

And Indigo. Looks like he wasn't fazed at all, just having the time of his life! ...and the meal of his life by the looks of it!
I'm so happy it all worked out in the end! I know I've lost about 2 lbs. from the sweating and rapid heartbeat of several hours this morning, you must have lost at least twice that!

He looks right at home.

Congrats! I am wondering? What was the humidity in Indigo's enclosure that first day?

It is really dry in our apartment so the humidity when we first put the bedding down is around 70 to 80. It will drop in a couple of days to the 50 or 60s. Within a week (without misting) it will be down below 30. When I put in new bedding, I just let the high humidity ride out for a few days until it drops on it's own. I figured it couldn't hurt for a day or two and he looks close to a shed and is probably a little dehydrated from the trip.

That is exactly why the edits went it. I was getting a bunch of questions on facebook. People see two skinks and automatically assume breeding. I have no desire to breed and I think I have all males anyway.

Thanks guys! He is quite the little ham. My phone makes noises (and flashes) when I take pictures. His instinct is to look at the camera and pose! Coomassie usually runs away. Here are a couple from last night.

Coomassie is adapting just fine to the new baby. He woke up from his nap last night for some head pats before he went to bed.

Indigo the ham (after consuming at least 5 snails, he is a piggie!)
