Considering getting a BTS

So i am considering getting one, I have done my research and such but I was wondering if I could have the basking bulb on the outside of the terrarium on a desk lamp arm, so its shining in on an angle on the basking rocks, instead of above. Would that work?

As long as you're getting the correct temps throughout the enclosure, I see nothing wrong with that. Keep in mind that if you go with a mercury vapor bulb, they do not last as long when they are tilted.

As long s you're providing the proper temperatures it would be fine, although I would be concerned with the possible safety hazard with it falling and such.
