Unfortunately, many skinks are misidentified by the seller. You have a nice Tiliqua gigas evanescence (Merauke) though. Welcome to the forum!

A bird's eye view photo is better for sexing. However, you can't be 100% sure of the sex until you see either hemipenes for a male skink or gravidity for a female skink.

Actually, I was thinking female. The body shape is kind of girly. Males tend to be a little straighter, while females tend to be a little rounder. ML is probably better at this than I am, though, so I may be wrong

It looks young to me, and also like it is flattening itself out in the picture. Those things make it more difficult to sex acurately, but it looks male to me.
