BLUE TONGUE SKINKS

Had my northern boy, Aggie, out today so thought I'd snap a few pics. I just love his pink eyes, can never catch them on camera but their SUPER pink in person. Its so weird the color changes he goes through, some days he's got absolutely no black on his sides, others it's like this. Some days his whole body is neon pink, others it's like this. lol. He's a total sweetheart too. Anyway, that's it! Just felt like sharing

Wow! What a gorgeous northern!

Thanks! I can't wait to breed him next year so I can see if his light colors pass on. I can't find a similar looking northern anywhere and have heard a whole pile of different possibilities as to what his origins are. I just think he's cute as a button and has a personality to match The only one I could find that looked remotely like him was one I saw on the albino page on this site. I know he's not an albino but he looks like the one really light northern on that page that I think is owned by someone named Larissa? Something like that. But anyway, im hopeful he'll pass along the light colors to his offspring. Next breeding season feels like ages away!

Lissa was a white northern. I believe that she passed away, but someone can correct me if I'm wrong. There are others, but white ones are pretty rare. If you look around enough, you should be able to find a light colored one.

Matt Turner (http://www.selectiveorigins.com) developed a line of very white northerns awhile back. He sold his off when he reconfigured his collection, but there are a number of those really white skinks still around. I can’t remember who all has them, but I think Ray has some, and possibly Andrew. That would be a good line to breed with this one.

Aw, man, you're sooo lucky to have the collection you have Jeff I hope someday to just have ONE shingleback, you have a whole community of um! As far as my Aggie, hopefully next year I'll be able to breed him but I don't think I'd ever be able to afford another white one, I got him kinda by chance, really only paid like $100 for him cuz that's what I paid for the snake I traded for him. I think he's just a really pretty light colored northern but it would be neat if his babies came out a little lighter. Thanks for the info!
