Shingleback is Here!

Postby Ctkbod » Sun Mar 16, 2014 5:29 pm

I've posted a bit about him over in my original thread from months ago in "classifieds" when I was still looking for a skink. And now he's here! I figured I should probably start a new thread in general discussion.

My shingleback import from Hamm finally arrived. He is a yr old. He is rugosa type. He shipped from Hamm, so he's had a long stressful journey. But he seems to be settling in nicely. Eating well. Exploring all over his enclosure. He's wonderful! I'm so excited! I can't figure out how to post pics from my phone and my laptop is on the fritz. Jeff posted a pic for me over in the classified thread though. If somebody else knows how to slurp it over here, please feel free to.

My kids have named him Maurice, as in Sendak. Because they think he looks like one of the monsters from "Where the Wild Things Are."

Now I jut have to find him a girlfriend lol. If anyone is selling or knows of someone who is selling a female, please please let me know!

I am over the moon to have him here. I've desperately wanted a shingleback for years. I thought that actually getting one would fix that. But, no. If anything, it's made it worse lol. Now, instead of just drooling over pics of other people's I get to play with my own. Which is making me want ALL THE SHINGLEBACKS! Srsly, last night I couldn't sleep because I was laying in bed thinking about how I'm going to need to remodel my office to convert it in to my reptile room because my current reptile room isn't going to be big enough once I get a few more shinglebacks.

I think I may be developing a problem. Or at least my wallet is

Let's see if this pic works. I'm pretty technologically stunted- so I'm crossing my fingers

He has been eating and drinking like a champ. I'm so pleased. I was worried he'd be too stressed to eat after his long voyage. But that hasn't been the case

I have no idea why all these pics are loading sideways. Maybe a moderator can fix them? But at least you guys can see Maurice in all his gorgeousness

He's looking in great shape. Should make for good breeding stock one day.
