New Merauke

Postby Ophidiophile » Thu Feb 20, 2014 12:31 pm

Yesterday (2-19-14) I added the first new Merauke to my collection since I purchased 4 of Susann's babies last summer. I just couldn't resist this one. It's pretty hot for a baby weighing 51 g. -- but we'll see what happens as it grows. I'm hoping it rivals Rio or Austin in color.

I haven't typically named my skinks but I didn't want this one to be left out, so it's "Nebraska."

When it came in, it seemed more yellow. Here's a cell phone pic of it soaking right upon arrival:

And here it is this morning, photo taken with a real camera:

Well he sure fits in well with the others, color, pattern, AND name! In other words: he's magnificent!

True. Big difference between a cell phone camera and a real one. I liked the yellow look but it honestly looks more like the second photo.

Here's another--
