There were actually 2 in the reptile shop. The other one was much bigger overall but to be honest looked really fat and had a really big double chin. We go to the reptile shop every 3 days for frillie food but every time we go in, the bigger one has never been out of his cave. We have only ever seen the top of his head peeping out of his cave. Every time we go into the shop, the one we bought is always lively, inquesitive, nosey and full of beans. He always comes to the front of his viv to see us and when they opened the door, he came straight out and was all over both of us, in fact he couldn't make up his mind who he wanted to be on but we think thats because its all new smells and scents for him. He is bright as a button.
We looked him over and didn't see any dead scales on him at all and his tail looks perfect. Only thing is that 3 toes on one of his front feet are damaged. This damage looks very old and is completely healed. It doesn't hold him back at all. We know he was housed with the bigger one when they were younger but had to be separated as they fought so we don't know if this damage was from fighting or if it's a shedding issue. Apart from that he is just perfect.
Reptile shop think that it's a male but not sure. We asked if they had seen any sperm plugs but they hadn't noticed. Be it male of female he/she is so cute and we are so happy.
We can't bring him home for a couple of weeks though as we are doing major viv building. Although I did post a pic on my thread about whether a Northern or Merauke make metter pets, I'm putting a few pics here so you can see our new baby!!
If you look to the right of our baby, there is a viv with aspen in it, you can just see the other BTS peeping his head out of his cave, this is how he always is and never comes out unless to eat and goes back in again.
Good choice.
