BLUE TONGUE SKINKS

First baby just came in. He's sort of a rescue, so I'm not sure what type he is (or if it's even a "he). About 6 months old I believe. He's in the middle of a shed. And he seems to be settling in just fine.

Halmahera.. They are lovely. Very, very shy.. but awesome.

They're not necessarily shy! My indo comes up to my hand when I open the enclosure. Yours is showing good signs by eating already. He looks healthy.

Then Halmaheras act a lot different than classics. I have talked to several keepers about it, and they all agree.. they are the diurnal vampires!

These keepers have multiple "Halmaheras" and "Classics" and they have had these animals for an extended period of time?

And what's a diurnal vampire?

Valley Reptiles, a women in a country in Europe (that has around 6 Halmaheras and 2 classics), a few different keepers on the BTSE group, and me. I never said anything about classics, other than say they are nothing like them, which was meant to be taken rhetorically (and a joke?).

A diurnal vampire is describing them that they hide just about constantly, but when they do come out it is during the day.. hence the word diurnal.
