Large "Growth" On Lizards Side, Help?!

Postby Nickkkk » Sun Jan 19, 2014 1:54 am

Hey this is my first time posting and the reason being my pet blue tongue Lucky has got this weird lump on his side that has rapidly grown in size and I'm unsure as to what it is. I've had him since I was a little kid and had no health problems up until now, if anyone could help me out with what they think it is that would b amazing. I am taking h to the Vet ASAP but I thought I'd see if I could find what it was myself first. (Sorry for the poor quality photos but I took them with my phone as I was posting this.)

I'm guessing by its unscarred head that you keep this skink by itself, so that rules out an infected bite.

Therefore its probably a cyst of some sort.

Is the lump hard or squashy?

It is hard, and touching it causes him no pain at all but I'm still very worried.

A trip to the Vet then is definitely the best thing to do next.

Rapid growth suggests an infection, so most likely a cyst of some kind. Let us know what your vet says. I hope you get there soon.
