Northern or Eastern?

Postby MELUCHJA » Mon Dec 23, 2013 4:31 am

Hi,
We are going to be getting our first blue tongue at the end of January. And I still can't decide between a Northern or an Eastern.
Just wondering if anyone can recommend over the other for being a good family pet? I have 2 kids aged 7 & 8, it will be primarily my 8 year old daughters pet.
Any suggestions?
Also, after a good breeder too, any recommendations?? We are is Brisbane.
Thanks

Both types are great, easterns are probably best bet for younger folk, there probably tamer over all than northerns, meaning over all consistantly higher average of being mellower, northerns can be really tame to,but from what ive seen with mine, some northerns are a little more unpredictable

But yeah, couldnt do wrong with either

Theres quite a few breeders in your area

2 members here for instance, helikon and rorybreaker have quite a few babies

Although I only have one bts (northern) I've never met a bad temperamented northern, but I've never met an eastern.

Thanks for the help. I had pretty much decided on an Eastern but then read that Northerns also have great temperaments.

Thans Richard, I have contacted both of those members you mentioned fingers crossed we will have a new baby in about a month :) Getting so excited now.
