I have loved blue tongues ever since my friend got me into them at school. Two of his blueys had babies (6) and he gave 2 to me and told me what to do With them. It was almost winter and I was panicking they weren't eating much. He told me that was common and it is what they do. I still panicked. Of course I researched more to help. About 5 months later they both died seperately. I was devastated. They did eat bur hardly.
Ever since that I thought I was a bad lizard keeper and was ashamed of myself. NOTE: 1 of his babies escaped somehow and another died 2 daya after he/she/it was born. (I'm not sure if I should say it if i don't know the gender of the specific blue tongue.) The baby was smaller than the others. He went on holidays for about a week or so and 1/2 of the babies that he had died unknown. The other died months later.
It was my first experience and now I have improved lots better.
I later caught an adult blue tongue thinking it would be easier to keep now that it was spring. After 2 hours of research he still didn't eat. The bluey was VERY unhappy as you could see it in him. I let him go, my friend was telling me he was happy and just wasn't hungry. I told him that he wasn't eating ever since I got him! How is he happy? So I let him go where I found him. I was still thinking I was bad and I didn't do anything right. My dad bought me two shinglebacks which were my favourite! I was happy but still knowing I was bad. After two months of having them they have been my best blue tongues! They are eating well, fun, they love outside and even a little bit of inside.
I am hopefully going to get a Blotched blue tongue
