Is one mating enough?

If you only have actually seen them mate once, can she still be pregnant? Or does it take many times?

In technicality, yes. Makes odds better when they mate a bunch of times.

I have a female who seems gravid after only allowing the male one go at her. I also have this season a few others who were mated only twice. I know this because they are all kept separate and the male was only introduced for the ten minutes or so it takes to mate, that includes the chasing, biting, mounting etc.

I figure as long as you're confident that the male is shooting live ammo , once is enough.

I know with Australian species of geckos, Nephurus, one night a year with a male will allow that female to have multiple clutches throughout the spring/summer, with the only limiting factor being the condition of the female after successive clutches.
