Thanks btskinks

Postby syn » Sun Nov 17, 2013 9:01 pm

I've wanted a blue tongue skink for yeeeears. Finally got one from Jeff and I am very happy with my little turd.

My friend James said they look like corn. So I named "her" Corn. I am not good at naming things.

Anyways, I'm mostly a gecko person. My favorite species is the tokay gecko if that says anything. ;)

Hope to harass you all for a while.

Bonus for Jeff:

Neener neener neener.

I'm really happy with the little one!

And I agree, I love this little thing. "She" is passed out in my lap right now.

Sabrina, you should really put the skink away and let it settle in for a few days at least. Its had a traumatic weekend

Yup. I know the procedure. I only had her out because I need to put her in a bigger tank and to get some food off her.

Yes and no, I think sometimes we anthropomorphise too much with blueys. They are what they are, unless it is showing clear signs of stress (which they often do after a few minutes out) I wouldn't worry about it. They get over things pretty quick. As a poster on this site once wrote they are not "mamby pamby animals" hehe My personal experience is that CB born and raised animals just accept handling etc as a part of life. If it were WC that would be a different matter.

The animal was out on display at a reptile show for the last few days. I'm figuring it probably needs some time to itself

Lovely little Northern! Welcome to the forum. I'm definitely a skink person but my husband shares your passion for tokays. Awesome lizards.

I agree, whether or not you took a blood sample from the skink to analyze, no one knows how stressed he is.

Hey now, she was only there Saturday (unless he set up Friday). I made sure to get her before someone else did. :ohyes:
