Moist hides?

Today I finished up my setup for my Bluey I soon hope to get, and today I just heard you should have a humid hide. Is this true, or would baths supplement that? Any help would've nice!

Using a humid hide helps the skink shed, but I don't think it is a must have. I've owned both snakes and reptiles and never used anything to help their shedding process. My Northern just went through a shed and did just fine on his own. Although, if he needs to, his water dish is big enough for him to soak on his own. I'd say to observe you skink through a few sheds and see how they turn out. If you are finding left over pieces attached to his body, then maybe a humid hide would work. However, if the humidity in your home is high enough, the humid hide really won't help that much.

My guy loves his humid hide.

He goes in there to shed and so far so good, he also poops in there so it makes finding his wastes very easy.

It's a plastic tub with large gravel rocks on the bottom, a layer of sphagnum moss on top and a chunk of cork bark to hide it.

He also has a pool but hardly ever uses it. I am thinking of removing it and just giving him a small bowl so he has more decorations to explore.

Ok thanks and I will post a pic of my setup in a little bit just to show what it's like and how I set it up. I have a lot of coverage I mine is that ok? like fake plants, cork bark, and an old decoration I have. Also I have a water dish, a smooth basking spot with another set of cork with a plant in it. Any the pics would be better than how I'm describing it haha.

Nice man! Yea that makes poop clean up better, but it have care fresh so I guess I'll spot clean, and just change it every month.
