My shingleback run pictures

I have dubbed this run my shingleback run, since I usually see at least half a dozen shinglebacks. Today was no exception and in an hour and a half, I saw 7 shinglebacks, either in on on the edge of the dunes. I have to stop myself from stopping every few minutes to pick them up and examine them, so I allow myself 3 shingleback stops per run, otherwise my exercise becomes a bit inefficient!
These three were all beauties, as they always are, but one of them in particular, was enormous! You can see it was bigger than my forearm from the photos!
As usual, I couldn't help but share! Enjoy! Excuse my goofy grinning, I get that look every time I see one!

I love seeing these guys in the wild. The second one in your pics is a monster. I always think of the goldfields being huge in comparison to our coastals over here, but I forget how much chunkier aspera are. Great pics!

Awesome! Love how these look in Nature. That area reminds me of the "scrub" area we used to hike in FL, when we lived there. Very similar vegetation, very flat and sandy. We used to see all sorts of small lizards. Thanks for sharing.

Please keep posting pictures of the wild ones Lea. It's great to see what kind of diversity exists is the relatively small area you are finding them in. I am very envious, but not enough to send these pictures on to the lizard-picking-up authorities.

I always feel naughty now when I pick them up ... but do it anyway 
These guys were big! The first one had great yellow banding and a bright belly, the iPhone doesn't do the pictures justice, but the yellow was quite vivid.

No, all solitary animals so far, but some of the vegetation is dense, so I wouldn't be surprised if other halls were lurking, just waiting for their moment.

Funny you said that just today, I've just been out for a walk along the same dunes and I saw a pair! I had my camera, but stupid me forgot to put the memory card in! 
They were sitting together happily in so e vegetation. I was surprised, as they didn't display at me, just carried on enjoying the sun as if I wasn't there. I left them be, since I didn't want t disturb any hanky panty, but I'm kicking myself for forgetting to put the memory card in the camera! It was the whole reason for walking so I could take pictures!

Don't worry, we all forget memory cards (sometimes way too often..) I haven't yet with someone's photo-shoot, though!

I'm just annoyed because I did see a pair. I see the shinglebacks every day, but it's different seeing them together- especially when I want to show them to you guys!

Early days lea,i think wild ones hang out together for quite some time,id hazzard to guess you will start seeing that a bit in the coming weeks and will get that photo oppatunity abit,especially seeing so many about

Hi, Jason! Are you still planning your trip to Australia next year? I know I owe you some photos of kangaroo island, sorry, I always remember at the most inconvenient times! I'll try and get around to it over the next few days.
