BLUE TONGUE SKINKS

Please can someone advise me!
I have a three mnth old skink who is thriving since we got him home! I bought him/her a can of snails...he whipped one off me- but coulsnt crack it as it was rock solid. I was worried about him teying to swallow it whole so have reemoved it from the viv...are they ok? Should I hold off feeding them until he/she is bigger?

The canned snails they sell in the pet stores here for reptiles are usually shelled and I can attest that my blueys love them! I don't have any experience feeding snails with the shell so can't say how easy it should be for them to crack but from the youtube videos I've seen it looks like the shells on the ones they were eating were pretty thin. Maybe you could try taking it out of the shell for him?

Canned snails, at least the ones sold for reptile consumption, are usually sold without their shells removed. My skink eats live snails by cracking the shell, eating the meat, and then spitting the shell out. If the snail is bigger than the space between your skink's eyes, you should probably wait for a few weeks.
