It was a nice day so I took him out on the deck for some sunshine. Here are some pictures I took. He was pretty surprised by the outside at first, but calmed down soon.

Very odd looking Merauke/New Merauke!

You think Merauke? When I asked here I got mostly Indonesian, but a few people mentioned Merauke. His color is pretty different for either like some weird in-betweener.

From looking at his head scales, I also think that he is a Merauke.

Yeah, he has PERFECT Merauke scales. His pattern is a bit off, but nothing too major.

I would in no doubt call him a Merauke. Looks nothing like an Indo.

As you can see, right now Gucci has lost most of that yellow and isn't looking that light at all. And that shine!

When I first got Gucci and started posting, I had a number of Indo ID suggestions. It seemed like merauke with a different color and now I have found some that look very nearly identical to Gucci. There are so many different lizards out there!

Not all Meraukes have the traditional 1 stripe down the neck. If you look at the thread "Blame This on Susann!" one of the skinks have 3 stripes down the neck like this one, and it was CBB from pure Meraukes.

Hmmm... My opinion is still female Indo.
And, to be fair (about Dakota's comment on the thread "Blame This on Susann!"), the babies produced by me (pictured in that thread) have indeed been CBB, but I don't think we can call the parents that produced them PURE Merauke since they are wild caught. I mean, if we're to be technical here. Are they Merauke? Yes. Can I say that they are PURE Merauke? No, since I have no way of telling what's in their genetic mix.

looks very girly to me as well,a nice looking one at that

susann ,most that come in are true to there wild counterparts,i dont think many at all would breed at the holding compounds,farm raised is just sugar coating for nabbed from the wild gravid females

they house so many together in cramped housing,there probably way to stressed to bother mating,plus its only a small window when they would breed,i think wild caughts are consistantly more reliable to be what they are compared to captive breds,as alot of advertisers when they show parentage show different species ect

id be confident your guys are pure meraukes,but it is true,you never really know 100 percent
