Eastern (Brisbane eastern suburbs locale) Blue Tongue DOR

Postby RoryBreaker » Fri Aug 30, 2013 3:58 am

Although sad , road killed herps I find immensely interesting. They are the next best thing to finding a living wild animal in regards to colour forms and population size.

During my travels today at work I came across this unfortunate soul and thought that maybe some of the keepers from outside of aus will find it interesting as well. I found it on the side of the road in the suburb of Chandler which is on Brisbane's east side. I grew up on the east side of brissie and this is a good representation of what the average eastern from that part of the world looks like.

Interesting too , still a day to go until spring officially begins.

Cheers

Gorgeous bluey. Too bad it's no longer alive. That has to be at least the 8th eastern that I have seen (in pictures only) that is known to be from Brisbane. I can't believe how similar they all looked. From what I have seen, Brisbane seems to be one area that has a distinct "look" to it's easterns.

They seem to have flatter heads than other blueys. Oops poor taste.

looking at tail section id say its copped a few cars, blueys are remarkedly tough critters, they dont tend to pan cake unless lots of cars go over them, some survive the head crunch or at least for quite some time
