BLUE TONGUE SKINKS

Okay so i bought a uv meter to measure my uv lights.
That way i will know when they have to be replaced..
BUT i'm not sure what the uv value has to be for a bluey?
What is the minimum and maximum value?

im not sure anyone really knows what uv range best benefits bluetongues

most companys spurt out what they think on there packaging,so maybe google it up for particular lighting your using

me personally i dont really use uv lighting, i think dietry intake is more important and artificial lighting has mediocre benefits compared to what the natural sun delivers leaving dietry intake pretty important still

best be is take readings from when lights are brand new as some lose thwte uv output alot faster than others and dont skimp on dietry intake of calcium vitamin d3 as lighting alone wont come close to helping there

Diet is probably most important but i just want make sure he or she wil have a basking spot where he/she can also get some uv if needed.
To bad no one really knows it though xD

Go outside and check what it measures. Better yet, look up UV info from their native environmnet. That's what I'd think they would need but id guess impossible to achieve in captivity. Have you tried googling to see if there are any articles out there?
