BLUE TONGUE SKINKS

Just looking for confirmation that these are slugs:



From what I've read I think that this could mean a few things:
-She could have laid more slugs and eaten them and this could be it for her for the year
-She could produce more slugs and then be done for the year
-She could still produce babies even after having slugs

Am I correct? I found these last night and they weren't in her enclosure the night before. If she was going to have babies would it be soon or can they come much later? I had given up hope of her being pregnant because although she is fatter than she used to be I just assumed that was just her gaining weight in her non-brumation months. I guess that I should be removing all of the shavings and just putting towels in her enclosure in case babies do come soon!

Yes, those are slugs. Hopefully babies are on the way!

yes slugs,maybe more to come to,maybe babies,very hard to tell,watch her behaviour,if theres more to come they usually show signs

She's usually quite shy and hides a lot but last night she was basking even when we were in the room. Hopefully that means there's more coming. Of course she has to choose a day when I'm going to be gone for over 12 hours!

Yes after all my weeks of worrying more than half Calypso's litter was born before we realized she had starting having them! I had truly spent hours staring at her in the tank- I think she was just waiting for me to leave her alone

I'm the same way with Virginia.. she has started the heavy breathing and pushing with the deep breaths.. and I'm staring her down like a hawk.. but only time will tell.

I'm not really concerned about the mom, she will do her thing whether we are there or not. I'm worried that if she has them and I don't find them until 12 hours later that she might eat/kill them.

dakota of they start pushing they should spit babies out with in an hour,not be pushing for weeks,so it may actually not be pushing you see

ellie,babies are generally safe in with the mum,its a rare occurence when adilts eat or attack them,ive had them have babies witj multiple adults indoors and havnt seen any issues even finding them 2 or 3 days after last checking on females,you often walk in and see the adults inder baskink light with quite a few babies wedged in with them

Just got home and found 2 more slugs but no babies

Is it normal for females to be more grumpy around this time? I took the slugs out of her enclosure and she tried to bite me multiple times, she's usually aloof but not aggressive.

Yeh normal, I've learnt the hard way not to wear open footware in my outdoor enclosure when my female blotchies are giving birth. ooooouch.

yep can be normal,some can be very nutty at that time,some just act normalish

Still no babies, I think she might be done for the year.
