another 2 kunnanurras 18 month olds,the bigger one was mated this season but is still small,the other was runt of litter that got tail nipped at birth,possably sibling stealing its birthsackbut its how i found it

these are all from a litter of 16,dark ones the odd ball

kim the vic alpines have a clearer face,the yellow isnt as deep but also look at lip area,nsw type alpines usually have black stripes between scales,vics are mostly clear between the scales on lip to eye area

going on 13 year old aspera ,pic from today,he shed a couple of days ago,hes starting to hang around the female

going on 13 years old rugosa rugosa male,swapped a coiple of baby blotchies for him at a pet shop,should have gotten the other 2 as well,lol
need to find him a partner,hes pacing like buggery at the moment,pretty much sprinting around enclosure,definatly not a sleepy lizard

beer kegs on legs,i keep rechecking using torch to check for sex,and it actually appears that these 3 are from left to right,male,male,female ,the females the one i caught head waving and tail wriggling in front of the big one,all up it seems i have 4 males one female

It seems that the Victorians have a more symmetrical pattern horizontally across the back. It also appears to be in rows of four's.

it varies alot,some have staggered blotches and others have more horizontal patterning,almost stripe like from head to tail,all forms seem similar in that regard

the founding pair,female has big blotches,male skinny ones in the horizontal appearing arrangement,the produce even blotches,staggered and stripey looking arrangement,a couple also have appeared to look banded ,blotches joining almost like an eastern is banded,ive seen that on nsw types and lowlands to,litters have produced a mixed bag

kim a better pic representing a vic alpine is my avatar pic,thats the founding female,bit dusty in pic but it shows clean appearing head as apposed to nsw type alpines,some of the vics get black on face though,even there heads but its very bland in appearence to nsw type alpines

i should point out that theres different looking vic apines to,scott has a good pic of a wild one which is from a similar locality but looks more like some of the nsw types just paler

these 2 are the founders of my group and still going strong
another thing with vic alpines in particular the males that differs to nsw type is color change over a season,nsw types dull to bright yellow,dull isn't a good term as its bright,but they then go to orange,red or pink,the vics are normally yellow at there best,some get slight orangey look,but males go dull the yellow almost looks white

when i just had the big old girl,she was housed indoors for a few years with the stumpies and a few lowlands blotchies,she had a couple of litters with a lowland male,this is one of the babies produced,a female cross of the 2 forms,hibernating out in the open ignoring my hides

can u see the differences kim,there essentially the same just varying natural colour morphs,probably average bigger size the more north you go in there range though even lowlands can get big
