Update

Postby Bobo » Thu Jul 25, 2013 9:35 pm

Well its been a while, in that time we lost our female bearded dragon ChubChub :( (died of being attacked by a sneaky cat, Blinded=(photokeratoconjunctivitis) and not eating and was meant to die a few days later but I kept her alive for a whopping 6 months :),(good for the herpetology degree Im working on for my future)

The male (Puff) went into a depression like state and out of a family of 5 he would only eat food I gave him and would only come to me.

Anyway Bobo(BTS) is coming 4 years old in December and is 41cms measured on a 42-43 cm ruler :D
He weighs 663 grams but wont eat at the moment(hardly eats) and a little worrierd
Also added some fire-bellied newts to the family and have literally doubled in size

Hey Bobos keeper :) cool to see another Kiwi bitten by the bluie bug !

If you are worried about the eating issue there is an awesome search function on this site,
it will give you the best info on feeding and people with similar issues.
There is also a post at the top of this forum called : "BTS not eating? Read this!" check it out!

I have found that this forum is so comprehensive that almost every question I have had has had a forum posting about after searching lol,
These guys know their blue tongues :D
Hope that helps!
Post some pictures of Bobo!!

Bobo, how cold is it where you are? There is a chance your skink is going into brumation, even if you feel like his temperatures are the same.

And mywave, thank you for that comment! ...I wish more people used the search function... By doing a search on a subject you usually get so much more info than when you post a simple question in a new thread.

Is that at night? What are your day time temperatures? As has been said, it's possible that Bobo is brumating, so not eating and hiding a lot is quite normal. Is he otherwise in. Good health, a good weight etc?

How do you measure your temperatures? Don't you know what temperature you have him set at?

That would be a little dangerous to not know your temperatures at all, or maybe I'm misunderstanding you. :noknow:

seeing that Im at school I cant Check the temp but after school me and my dad use his thermometer and a few years ago when taranaki was struck with snow and the temp was at 6 degrees (C) without the light on at 8pm

I attend to purchase a auto digital temperature recorder so i can calculate the average temperature of the tank so i can either get a hotter heat bulb or something else

It's very important, bozo. Your bluey could suffer if he isn't kept at the right temperatures. Ask on the weekend and measure once the lights have been on a couple of hours, I'm sure you could manage that between the two of you.
