Soooo much to my delight, we recently got in three Tanimbars. THEY'RE SO GRUMPY AND SO FAT AND I LOVE THEM

I adore them so much I might even name them all. What's the name of the Shrew in that play by Shakespeare? This fat wench needs to be named something suitably cranky.
Image

This is my fat little yellow Orca ('cause she's a whale). I am really, REALLY hoping she's gravid.
Image

hehehe she has rolls
Image

Orca and hissy face here were housed together briefly before they came in, so hissy face has a bit of a scarred up tail.
Image

I love how yellow Orca and hissy face are, we had a weird influx of adult sized tanimbars come in from two different people and these two came in together
Image

The baby Irian Jayas are growing so fast - they seem bigger every time I look at them
Image

my tolerant little noodles <3
Image

The big Halmharas that looked grey - some of you may remember how beat up they looked, and how grey they were at first. They've shed out and put on weight and are pretty impressive looking blue tongues, if you ask me
Image

Next to my foot for a size comparison - these are huge. I've been attempting to pair all 5 of them with the axanthic blue tongue, but they just hang out and talk about blue tongue skink stuff, I guess, no real activity.
Image

"What are you doing, you crazy blonde haired ape"
Image

"I DON'T FIT ON HANDS"
Image

"but I don't wanna take pictures!" big, super sweet heart of a 'regular' indonesian. Also my knees.
Image

Body shot - hoping it's a she, and it's gravid. This one was housed with another similar looking blue tongue when I took over in March, so I'm REALLY hoping the chunkiness is due to being gravid. if not, welllll maybe it needs a diet.
Image

The Axanthic - gravid? Kinda fat? It was living with the other axanthic, as well as with some of the other indos, for a short while when I first took over - again, fingers crossed.
Image

ML's favorite... MERAUKES AS FAR AS THE EYE CAN SEE
the pretty one (who would not stay still for ground pictures)
Image

One of the more reduced meraukes
Image

I actually really like these with the white/black speckling bordering their peach bands
Image

My foot reappears for a size comparison - all the meraukes are this size now
Image

Aaaaaand that's it! For now. :)

Thanks for looking, guys! Also thanks for the tip, everyone, on the beef - I've been adding beef to the diet of the skinks (1:2 beef:turkey ratio 1x a week) and it noticeably helped in putting weight on a few of the skinks that weren't putting it on like the others. They also LOVE IT. I get the fattier beef (73% lean) since it's a bit cheaper, and the point has been to put weight on them, and it's made a difference.

Thanks again!

That's a nice looking group. Do you have any "thin" skinks? I guess it's possible that these are all gravid females, but in general most of the meraukes and indos that I have kept and seen have been thinner than these. I have had a couple females shaped like this, but they were the exception, not typical.

I guess what I getting at is that statistically speaking, it is not likely that all of these skinks could be this "round" unless at least some of them are gravid.

Yes, a few of them are thinner, with the average shape being like that of the first halmhara pictured. All the littler indos, the ones with the thin bands and yellow/green color to them, they're plumping up but seem too small to me to be gravid. The only merauke that seems to be getting round like that is the 'pretty' one, and she was part of a new shipment of skinks that had only arrived a couple weeks before I took over in March.

The fattest looking skinks have been getting fat like that even when on the leaner diet of turkey, and it is getting to be close to when they'd be due - if not past it. So we'll see, if they don't squirt out babies by August I just have a bad habit of making T. gigas species fat. My merauke at home is pretty chunky too.

I normally don't like yellow tanimbars but I actually like those!
And I think that axanthic is my new favorite!
Those black speckles are crazy!!!
And look at its tail it's almost solid black!!!
And that reduced pattern is to die for
