Irian Jaya burmation??

Hey, guys i would like to know a little more about burmation for Irian Jaya. I know the temps, humidity and stuff, but in the caresheet on the webside says, that they shouldnt eat any food. I understand that for Scincoides, cause of the colder temps, but the I.J. have much warmer burmation-temps. Do they stop eating too??

it depends how they are cooled,but generally they slow right down even with heat available if conditions are right for brumation

But do they completely stop eating?? for 4 months?? at 25 C.??

never kept ij,basing off northerns,mive don't completly stop,but they have patches where they show no interest,i still keep basking spot hot,rest of cage gets very cold and they go and spend a lot of time sleeping down cool end

a flat temp of 25 sounds risky to me,to cool to function properly but to warm to conserve bodyfat,i like to give tropical forms options,in nature day temp is hot year round,cooler nights in dry season,if the background temp of cage drops,they go and brumate when they want,if they want to bask,like in nature,that options there to,gives them options,and helps cover some of our flaws in keeping them when we take options away from them and expect them to do what we want

if you want a flat temp to brumate tropical forms at,most people aim for 18 to 20 degrees celcius

my northern juvies are copping temps around 22 to 25 and showing zero interest in eating,mostly sleeping but on warmer days pop out for a bit and still drink
