do bts have teeth?

hi i would like to know do blue tongue skinks have teeth cuz i seem to realize my skink never chews she just swallow everything she eats and shes an adult also how do you make your skink go to the bathroom and one more thing why do my bts keeps peeing out clear fluid alot?

Yeah, they definitely have teeth. They aren't very long or sharp, but they are there.

- yes they have teeth, theyre pretty round and well hidden, but more than enough.
bts do not really chew, they tear off pieces and swallow whatever they deem possible.

- your skink will poop when she wants to.
certain food will make them poop more, like fruits, beans and eggs. just like for a human.
a skink that has basked and moved around a lot will also be more likely to go to the toilet. movement and heat makes the stomach move too xD

- clear fluid is most likely pee. for them it is just water, as they get rid of the other parts of the pee as white urates.

most likely your skink pees on you because she is very very stressed and scared. time to take a break from handling and look over how you do it if so.

if she just pees otherwise, it is just pee

oh ok thanks!!! yea its just clear fluid no color or smell or anything and i didnt know they had teeth because like i said i never seen mine chew always swallow

BTS' teeth are not attached to the mandible and maxilla the same way as with mammals by a socket encompassing both sides of the bone. This tooth attachment is called thecodont. Their teeth are fused to the bone on the lingual side of the oral cavity, described as pleurodont teeth.

In this pic the little white nubs at the front are the teeth.

They have teeth.

And it HURTS when they bite. I actually lost half a nail due to a particularly chompy Indo bluey a couple months ago. Finally grown back out, but that was definitely one of the top 5 most hurty bites I've had.

99% of blueys just huff and puff without actually biting, though. But yes, yes they have teeth!

My skink accidently bit down in my finger instead of his mouse recently... You can feel the teeth! Today he was eating cantaloupe... He was definitely tearing at his fruit like a beast! So cute when they tear at food though!
