BLUE TONGUE SKINKS

Hi Guys,
First time BTS owner here, this site has been awesome for learning behaviors and the care sheet is beyond anything else where so thanks heaps guys!

Here are some Pics of Charlotte (aka Charlie ) she is around 4 months old, she arrived from the breeder very skinny ( hips showing ) and quite dehydrated with an old shed which was stuck to her head, she was very active very quickly and ate almost as soon as she had basked enough to explore her terrarium.



Her behavior has changed since I have had her ( around a month ) bit more hiding and that, has stopped eating as much, especially since we re did her terrarium, but we expect she is just getting used to her new environment.



Its very cold here winter etc, the room where she lives got down to 12deg c last night,
We have a CHI running in her terrarium so the warm side doesn't appear to be dropping anywhere near the 17deg c minimum at night though.
She has a bow tie marking on her nose scales which is cute



We will keep you guys updated as Charlotte gets older

welcome,nice looking eastern,with the dropping off heating has that coincided with the dropping of ambient temps,if so it could very well be picking up outside cooling which would explain the less interest in food

could well be re adjusting to change in environment and new home to,possably a combo,but if she has dropped of eating with you theres a good chance its the cooler temps,usually when timid at start feeding improves the longer you have them

best bet is to get a thermometer and check your temps,in particular basking spot temp,and warm end temp,middle of cage temp then low end temp,it very hard to guess at those temps and room temps falling often bring cage temps down with it,so what worked ok when it was warmer may be insuffiecent now
