I just thought that I would make an introduction post and share some pictures of my little guy.
Everyone meet Dwight from Mel's Exotics (formally Erin) who got here on Thursday just before lunch. The mail man was glad to get him off the truck (he thought there was snakes in the box) and I was happy to finally have him arrive.
He's a pretty handsome looking guy, a lady killer really.
At first he was a little reluctant to come out of his travel bag but he eventually summoned enough courage to venture out.
My trip to the dollar store today proved to be successful and ended up sprucing up his space a bit. During said sprucing up I learned a valuable lesson - skinks pee A LOT and it was a good thing that I had him in a tub on my lap and not just on my lap.
His basking spot wasn't getting warm enough so I raised it up using a planter which also doubles as his warm hide, built him a little ramp and ensured that everything was nice and stable (no injuring here!).
