Birth announcement!!!!
Finally!! Calypso gave birth to 11 live babies today
, 1 stillborn
and several large slugs (at least 6) Not positive she is done, as she still seems a little uncomfortable, squirming and occasionally pushing. Here are a few quick pictures we took with the camera phone, didn't get great ones as we were a little busy! Biggest was about 7", and smallest 5". I don't have any weights yet, I will work on that tomorrow. They are all tucked in there new homes in the baby Nursery, lol. Yes I am relieved and happy

Yes, that I have measured so far, there were 2-3 in the 7" range. I will try to get measurement & weights on all tomorrow. I have 2 little guys only about 5", they seem so tiny next to the bigger ones!

Re: Birth announcement!!!!
In another thread people said that seven inches is larger for a neonate. But their skink also had a long gestation period.

Re: Birth announcement!!!!
congrats, thats a decent sized litter,i thought u said 11 still borns at first and then slugs, thankfully got that wrong, lol
they look great, sounds like a typical gestation period and see how they pop when u start doubting they will, lol,in northerns, well in my experience its common to have varying sizes in a litter, normally with a runt or 2 thrown in for good measure
now that you have found babies, have u forgotten abit about the stress of waiting on the female?
i like your nursery set up,good job

I don't know about forgetting the stress anytime soon, lol I will be very happy when I see Calypso eat. She looks like she has dropped alot of weight (didn't want to stress her out anymore by actually weighing her) She is resting now, I do think she is done. Planning to give her a nice breakfast in the morning! Thanks again for all the help!
