BLUE TONGUE SKINKS

As I get things all set up to recieve my baby bluey, I was wondering a couple things about food preperation. A couple of days before I receive my BTS, I had planned on taking 7 small tupperware containers, and creating a food mixture of greens and proteins, and placing them into these containers so that I can just grab one each day to feed.

I don't think it should be any problem seeing as how vegetables and the like usually spend their time in the fridge anyways, but I was just wondering if anyone else does any other kind of "meal planning" for their BTS to make the feeding time a little easier. Do you pre-portion meals out, and refrigerate them? Or, do you prepare it fresh every day. Also, regarding silkworms, would these be ok to purchase

I put all my mix in a sealed bag.

I put a whole can of dog-food, with all the flowers/greens, and some bearded dragon pellets, and mix it all up..

I try to make sure there is little to no oxygen/air in the bag just so it can last longer.

My guys aren't really big on silkworms. They'll eat one each but don't really seem interested in making a real meal of them. They really like mice though (dead) if you are looking for a whole animal source.
I find the dogfood spoils a lot quicker when mixed with vegetables and refrigerated. I tend to store my dogfood in the fridge and mix in the veg after. I'm assuming the veg has a lot of bacteria on it that blooms when introduced to meat.

I've tried mixing everything up and putting it in meal sized portions in ziploc bags. Then I simply squeezed it out into the bowls when I needed it. The stuff only seemed to last three days or so in the fridge though. So now I mix it up only when I need it

I buy the little containers used for packing salad dressing for lunches. I take various veggies and a can of dogfood and blend them together in a food processor. I then portion it out and freeze the containers. Veggies retain nutrients longer in the freezer than the refrigerator. It works for me because every week when I go to feed my snakes f/t rats, I pull out skink food and let it thaw. I probably get a few months of feeding out of each mix so every time I make it, I use different veggies. Coomassie also gets a dubia roach or two during the week when we feed the leopard geckos. He recognizes the roach bin and freaks out when we pull it out (such a piggy).

Sometimes i maxe my mic in a food processor ad put them in ice cue trys which i then. Freeze and take out as needed

My female white northern recognizes the rodent bags when pull them out of the freezer and begs till i give her a rat pink. Its funny how perceptive they are. I haven't tried freezing the food, but that's a great idea. I'll have to give that a try

The two things that never cease to amaze me are my reptiles ability to recognize things (including my husband and I) and their ability to recognize food/feeding time.

Hmm, so seems like freezing it, is the way to go for convenience and for nutritional value. Well, I better go get a spare ice cube tray. Definitely don't want to drop one of those cubes into my Jameson and Ginger Ale. haha.
