Postby KeiraBts » Sun Apr 21, 2013 12:56 pm

Hi! After a few months i upload some pics of my northern, now he/she's 10 months old. I don't know the gender, the breeder told me it was a female but he wasn't sure, anyways, I call him/her Jimmy!

id say its a he though ;)

he looks incredibly much like my skink. so much that id suspect them to be from the same bloodlines! (this is a very far fetched guess)

very pretty!

I'd say male. Looks to be a bulge at the base of the tail...

Hes cute! I say he because I too think he looks male. Is it just me, or does he look a bit on the skinny side? I ask because I know that pics can be deceiving.

I don't know about this skink, but I noticed my skinks are more sausage-like when first woken up (like this photo), then they bask spreading their back, and they are their normal size after basking so long. But yes- pictures can be deceiving..

Males seen to be a little slimmer than girls. At least mine are. I have one female that is naturally slim built. I've taken her to the vet because she doesn't gain much weight, he said that some skinks are just thinner than others. Not to mention that this animal was acquired in Spain, perhaps animals from the Spanish bloodline are thinner than others. Either way, he's a beautiful skink and your very lucky to have him :D

Thanks! Then after reading all the opinions let's say he's officially a male hahaha (at least for now). I don't know how much does it weigh but he eats every other day a full "coffee dish" (I don't know another name to call these dishes)
