Is Captive Bred Excellence reputable?

I've just found out that a local breeder breeding Northerns exists, and I'd like to know if it'd be worth my while? Here is their site. I would have no problem shipping from someone recommended on the list, but it gets dangerously hot here in Vegas, and I wouldn't want to risk the health of the baby. I'd be ok with waiting, but local does seem easier all around. Also, how difficult is it to determine color as a baby? Does it take an expert's eye?

I personally have not dealt with them but Fauna Classifieds has a few reviews that say it is a good place.

A few members here have purchased from them (I believe that Donna is the skink lover). I think I emailed Donna a while ago (5 years?) and enjoyed the correspondence. In all ways I can tell, they are great sellers...

That's good to know! I did e-mail her about the colors of her potential babies this year, and she was much nicer than most of the people I had e-mailed about other reptiles! I asked her about the pairings, since I've fallen in love with the colors of some of her breeders. If I could have a clone of number 8, I'd be very happy XD. But from pictures, it seems like the babies look mostly the same? They all start out dark like that? I was originally going to aim for an adult, and I still might if I find the right one, so I wasn't too worried about how they'll look since they'd already have their adult coloration.

I have been on the other side of dealing with them and they purchased many northerns from me. Very nice to deal with. I also have a feeling that #8 might have been purchased from me. I sold them a light northern that originally came from Matt Turner and it lost all its front toes while in my care. Looks like that skink is missing its toes as well.

and color wise babies all look similar at birth, they colour up as they grow,so hard to tell what they develop into,as it can vary even from a single litter but if u like one adults look best chance is getting one from said adults litter

I bought my skink through her earlier this year. He arrived safe and sound and is very healthy and eating well. She was really helpful answering questions and what not. Prices were good.
