BLUE TONGUE SKINKS

I still have no measured them.. keep losing the tape measure
Last time I measured they were around 12", hopefully some good progression.

I thought since I cleaned their cage, and rearranged some things, they would be out, and all were freshly shed, so I decided to take some photos.

"The file is too big, maximum allowed size is 3 MiB".. so quality not as good as they should be.

ID: Xaunder is the fattest, and his first stripe is incomplete..
Ema is the slender one, and first stripe is complete.

Their cage is definitely not a vibrant as some on here.. but this is just a temp. cage.

I will post the length on this thread tomorrow, hopefully.

Xaunder's personality is best, but he pees ALL THE TIME.. but you have to love them inside and out.
Ema, well.. she is Ema, ha. Somedays she is great, and somedays she is a runner..

When I take them outside, they get their wild back, and that flash their tongue when I reach for them, but I'm glad they do that..

I know you are moving them soon, but you are so lucky not to have had any injuries with two skinks in a cage that size.

I know, but the cage I was going to move one in was ruined, and I had to do this.

Also, in the photo, you are only seeing 1/2 of the cage, but still dangerous, I know.

Nice looking meraukes! Be extremely cautious though - as others said, it's a ticking time bomb to house two blue tongues together, especially when you don't know their genders and they start reaching maturity. Could be a recipe for disaster if you don't separate them quickly enough. The sooner the better, and good luck on your enclosures!

If you don't mind me asking, where did you happen to get your skinks?

A breeder in Modesto, CA.. I forget his name.. I talk to him regularly, and it slips my mind right now.. I made him send me a picture to the mother, and 2 of the possible fathers, and they were all true Meraukes, and I seen a video of the gravid female. (Adorable) I know he could easily fraud me, but he seems to be telling the truth about breeding them, ect.

I have actually almost got the cages done, I need to put the water-based stain on it, and then all I have left is to experiment the heat (what to add, ect.), before putting the little dudes in.

No wonder your meraukes and their birthdays seemed so familiar, I nearly got my first blue tongue from him! In the end I was looking for a Northern anyway, but I was drawn to these guys because they were actually born on my birthday if he's telling the truth about the breeding. I thought it'd be funny to share a birthday with my skink, but I already share enough birthdays and half birthdays with my animals as it is, hahaha.

They actually turned 24 weeks old yesterday! c: Their birthday was either 28th or 29th, can't remember.. I have a memory of a fish.
I would love to share a birthday with a pet!

This is OT, but- I was actually going to buy from UNDERGROUND REPTILES, but when I watched their pairing video, they were producing Merauke X Irian Jaya hybrids, which I'm totally against.
Then I tried First Choice Reptile, getting 2 WC Indoneian.. but they gave me a refund for them not being available, and then I found Daniel, and I fell in love them.
Daniel is awesom (I think that is his name). He replies to all emails, and wants me keep him updated on the babies through their life-time.

October 29th is their birthday by the way! Good to know that I could help you remember!
