Aspera Spring "Check up"

Took the Aspera out for their "check up" recently and got a few pics. Not great pics, but just like to document things with something when I weigh them...
Probably my favorite lizard since I was about 8 years old and in a Herp Society group weekly...
These are the smaller form of Aspera, likely orginating somewhere near the Broken Hill area of Australia (NSW).

The one at the top in the bottom picture looks so like Nippy! He's from somewhere north of the river, between Burra and the border, so it makes sense that these look so like him. They have a touch more yellow, perhaps indicative of the change in terrain ? It's great seeing them so completely untouched by the separation of the continents! You have some real Aussie beauties, Jason!

The one at the bottom here, is nippy. Not the best pic, but I good one to show the range of colours across SA. Sorry to gate crash your thread, Jason, but it's just so great to see such a similarity! Looking at them like this, they are probably more like Suunto, Second down on the left. She's from the Northern region of the adelaide hills.

I have done several trips in the past in the Broken Hill area bordered by Wilcannia, Menindee to across the South Australian border, mostly around September before it got too hot but warm enough for BTS to be out and about in significant numbers. Sadly there were literally hundreds of them killed on the roads.
It's good to see they are valued so much more away from their natural habitat.

It is quite sad that local wildlife never seems as "valuable" to locals... nonetheless, they are much loved and sought after here in the rest of the world! This type, in particular, seems rather difficult to find and often requested...hard to see in images, but there is a "greenish brown" background color on them...the older male doesn't have it as much, but he is close...

If only it were a true trio...reverse trio in this case...take what you can find, though!

I can definitely see this and it is a nice "nod" to the perceived Broken Hill locale...
Suunto is also lighter bodied in appearance (at least comparatively), which would also show a similarity to this group.

Wow, I was convinced that you must have lost your camera! How many years has it been since you posted a picture? They are looking great! Just wish you would get some pictures of them on a "date".

My camera did break about 2 years ago...last good pictures were then...posted last about 4 months ago, I think? Just not on here...
