G'Day all
I'm new to this forum and new to Blueys. They are not actually mine, they were given to my 8yo son. Been trying to do the right thing by them. Researched diet and enclosure etc. He has had the skinks for about 5 months now.
Now two day ago I was actually holding on to them, so know that these spots were not there then, but today I did a double take as I walked past the enclosure. They had white spots from nose to tail.
Would anyone have any idea what they might be? There does not seem to be any underneath them, but then they seem to brush off, so might have just been rubbed off with them moving around.
I'll see if I can figure out how to put some photos up as I know they are more helpful than my ramlings.

Re: Small white dots from tip of nose to tip of tail
I moved this to the general discussion forum.
To me the scales appear to be lifted. This could be a sign of mites and their feces resemble white dust on the animal. I would look the skink over very well, and I bet you will find little black mites crawling on him. Please do a search in the upper right hand for tie treatment as it is heavily discussed topic.

Welcome to the forum!
Definitely look for mites, it seems the most likely answer.

mites, rasterns dont handle mites to well,a good mite treatment is recomended, aerosol mite spray works wonders, pails for scales should stock it if your stuck with where to aquire some, otherwise theres alot of online sources,eg ebay or most online reptile supply suppliers usually have it at a cheaper price
