BLUE TONGUE SKINKS

These are the babies before the first shed, I do believe.. Is it normal for them to be different sizes?

I can't comment whether that is normal, but looking at the smaller one, it looks like there are some deformities.

I noticed that.. his head is odd shaped..

The head on the smaller individual appears misshaped, the back appears indented, and the area around the base of the tail seems abnormally thin.

One of my friends in Malaysia had this baby last year.

If you take two random babies from any given litter, they will usually be similar in size. Many litters have a runt or two though, and sometimes you will get one or two noticeably larger than the rest. Most likely, these two are from a fairly normal litter, the small one is just the runt.

Most extremely small or premature babies look a little odd. In my experience many of them grow up normally and have no long term issues.

Were they kept/fed together? I know in some groups there can be bullies that take most of the food, really causing significant growth changes from the one who gets almost no food.
