Considering the fact its kingsnake could be anything. I sure wouldn't buy it. "It does not have the typical attitude of your normal irian jays"... (really, and I thought Jays were normally such friendly birds j/k)... "and does hiss and open its mouth and it may actually bite." (WOW no kidding since you took it from the wild...) "It has a few old marks from perhaps being grasped by a bird or mamal" UGH (All the atrocious spelling is THEIRS!)

I read this ad to say: We caught it, havent handled it, dont really know what it is, dont know anything about this species, and we are too lazy to spell-check or do any research about this species at all. But hey! It will make us $.
Makes sense though considering their other ads. Their website just makes me sad & angry.

I wouldnt take this animal even if it were free! I hope it finds a good home though :(

Very interesting.

I wonder if what they said about recently imported is true? Maybe from a farmed situation? Really interesting animal.

ST, calm down! While it is sad when that's the case, it's still unfair to black mark a seller without knowing the facts. Oh, and typos are a fault we are all guilty of. I'd keep quiet about it unless you'd like a grammar lesson, my dear!

That is my ad bluey and am not sure why you read my honest description of the skink and determined the below but I am a retired naval officer and don't sell reptiles for money but rather to make folks happy with their new acquisition. And I did much research before posting the ad. I even contacted a few professional folks who had skink web pages and asked them their opinions and they all said irian jaya. Email me off line if you have some recommendations for my web page if you are sad about it still however you can read there of the thousands of valid feedback reports from reputable names in the business staking claim to proper representation of animals. In any event, if someone is off on their proper identification, then a kind email may set them in the right direction. In this case, some young fellow was kind enough to help me and in return I offered him the skink with most of the shipping cost thrown in on the deal for his valuable time assisting. As to the skink, it came in a bag from Indonesia imported as an Irian Jaya.

Irianjayabt - my apologies. We try to not allow any badmouthing of sellers on this site, for exactly this reason. You never know the situation and should never assume.

I'm sorry about this.

Color doesn't always correlate to ID. There is a lot more than the color to determining what it is.

Does the Kei Island and Irian Jaya have the same scale correlation on the face?
