BLUE TONGUE SKINKS

Hello again, new guy here. We made the 2 hour trip from PA to Jersey to pick up the 2 year old Marauke BTS. He was in awesome shape and dog tame. Really nice red on his belly and that pretty blue/purple tongue. Attached is a quick cell phone shot I took of him and one of my Basset hounds checking each other out. My wife made chicken noodle soup so I decided to see if he may want to eat. He flew right over and picked all of the hard boiled eggs out. While this was happening Benny the Basset crawled up and began begging the BTS for some of his diner. It was a cute shot.

He's been running around checking everything out and making himself at home. I will post better shots once he settles in over the next few days. I swear he sits at the front glass and watches our big screen TV. My wife thinks I am nuts, lol. Anyway, just a quick update. More to come.

Couple more shots my daughter snapped with my phone. Oddly enough when me or my son open the cage he just seems disinterested. However when either of my daughters or wife open the cage he rushes to the open door and start hamming it for the camera. I also have large parrots and know they can become attached to a certain person or sex. Is this also true with some reptiles? May be a stupid question but it interests me.

I don't have a solid answer but I can tell you this. Coomassie is a male Northern. When we got him as a baby, my husband and I handled him equally and we always feed him together. For the first year or so, when I reached in the tank, nothing. When my husband reached in he would get really defensive. They only thing I can think of is Coomassie was defending his territory from another male. It has since stopped but it was a strange observation.
