He looks to be an Irian Jaya to me by body structure, but his color is like.. what?

Could he be crossed with an Axanthic?

He is WC, and they said he was old.

Could there be Axanthic Irian Jaya now?

There have already been Irian Jayas found that are being called anerythristic. This one was owned by Andrew Seike. I'm not sure if he still has it or not. The picture is from his website.

It looks almost exactly like that except reversed colors.. this doesn't look like a tanimbar to me, though..

The anery IJ has black speckles and lines in between the main banding.
The Tanimbar lacks the speckles and lines, and and as incomplete/broken main banding/pattern.

People in Indonesia have pet blue tongue skinks that are not native as well. This one is a pet it seems.

Because she is a little - no, wait, a LOT - more modest than you?

She actually owns this species so should have a MUCH better idea than you. She is just being modest and admitting that she isn't perfect (which none of us are!). Admitting you're not an expert is a sign of maturity not inexperience in some cases.

Part of it is humility, as Kat said. I know I'm not the big name for declaring what is and is not a _____-species. I don't have the qualifications for that, I only have limited experience and my best guess. For all you know the owner of this skink is a huge skink-guru, and watched this skink birthed from a classic IJ mother. It's most likely a standard (and gorgeous) tanimbar, but no one here knows enough to say for 100% sure.

The other part is tact. The owner has said it's an IJ. Telling him he's wrong and it's a tanimbar can be construed as calling him a liar or saying he doesn't know about skinks. People are usually okay with being informed and corrected, but only if done respectfully.

If you're unfamiliar with humility and tact I suggest you try it - it tends to earn a lot more respect than constant holier-than-thou answers.

Colour is a funny thing in animals, there are Easterns which are almost completely greenish, some are completely black and various shades in between. I've also seen lowland blotchies which are almost black or brown in some coastal areas. Anyway, interesting bluey.
