update on Caylpso
I weighed Calypso today and took a few pictures. This is my female Northern (about 3.5 years old) who I believe is gravid. We are at about 74 days out from the last mating, so she has 25 days or so left. She has finally started to eat well again, Yeah! She weighed 1090g on Jan. 16, weighed her today and she is 1150g, so she is gaining even though she has only been eating well the last couple of weeks. Here are a couple of pictures too. She looks like she is getting wider in the lower portion of the tummy. My skink Nursery is being assembled in the next week, so I hope we will have babies to put in there!

I also wanted to ask, how early do they start breathing heavy? She has been breathing a little heavier the past 2 days, not seriously heavy, just more than my other 2 skinks. Is this a progressive kind of thing?

Re: update on Caylpso
Whilst they can do the heavy breathing, its not as pronounced as in some other species, some northens do it more than others to just to confuse things, lol
She looks good weight wise down near back legs, some dont even gain alot of weight during gravidity, others balloon bigtime, the breathing becomes more pronounced the further the period of gravidity progresses,75 days wasnt even half way for my 3 lasses, cool nights possably prolonged it,plus i counted from first mating, for some reason mine mated for 6 weeks this season,2 had bubs one had slugs, the longest mating period one producing the slugs, she was also on a different heating cycle, not as cool over night which possably caused that
Shes looking good,my balloner tends to put on most weight in last quarter of gravidity, her sister never looks gravid to look at in comparison

Thanks Richard, I know it's just a wait and see game here now
I will try to post more pictures in 25 days or so when she gets closer to the time.

Thanks ReptileKing, she is a looker and oh so sweet! Thank God if she was that big (23.5 " & 1150g) and nasty I'd be in trouble! Hope her babies are as sweet as her!

Thought I would post a couple pictures of my male Thor. He is back to his friendly adventurist self. His eating has returned to normal so hopefully he will fatten up just a bit between now and next breeding season.
