It's been so long! Misha says hi!

Hi guys! Hi from Misha, too!

I am at work, and missing her terribly today, so I thought I'd pop in and talk about her a little.

I got Misha, the Northern BTS from Mel 7 months ago, in July of 2012. She's grown like a weed and has gone from a shy, nervous, and defensive little skink to the cuddliest thing I have ever met.

Misha's adorable. Every day I get home and go to my bedroom to change out of my work clothes. No sooner do I walk in the room than is Misha scratching at the door to get out. If she's hiding, or in a tube, she comes out as soon as I'm home, and greets me. I have to take her out, like it or not! When I open the door, if I stand close enough she'll climb out and straight onto me, clinging quite happily. When I'm working or gaming, she's on my desk... it's a lovely contraption, attached to the wall, and safe for her to basically have free-range of. She'll come out for anywhere from 2- 3 hours, 4 or 5 days a week. Often she'll just sit under the nice warm light I have set up on my desk, and sometimes she'll climb on my free hand while I'm working and cuddle up.

I've read things about how skinks almost seem to want affection / attention, and I always kind of scoffed at it. They're lizards, and reptiles simply don't work that way. I didn't expect that I'd have a lizard who begs to come out daily, who straight up appears to WANT TO BE NEAR ME... it's amazing. I thank my friend Allison a lot for being the one to convince me to get a skink. Misha has helped me so much with my stress and anxiety issues, it's like everything goes away when I look at her. She is beautiful and sweet!

Even my parents love her. One day, I put Mish on the kitchen table, and asked mom to watch her while I got the nail clippers for her precious little nails. When I came back, mom was picking her up!!! I about screamed. My mom used to pet my geckos, but they bit her one day because she pet them when they were hungry, so she doesn't anymore... but she would pet Misha. Well she picked her up that day and cradled her in her arms, and hasn't stopped since. She takes her out during the day when she has time, if Misha wants out, and she and my dad love petting and holding her. She has won the hearts of everyone!

I'll be posting photos when I get home, I want everyone to see her progress, how beautiful she's become, and how much she has grown... but for now, I just had to gush about my baby girl.

That's great to hear she's so happy to be handled. It will be good to see some pictures to see how she's grown up.

Thanks guys Yeah, she's... amazingly friendly. Sometimes she just walks around my desk for awhile before laying down to relax with me, it's pretty awesome!

Seems like anytime I let a reptile on my desk, especially BTS they poop. Sometimes twice, and only to me...never poop on my bf's desk
My mom likes my bts too, she's not really a reptile person but she doesnt mind them. She also really likes my ball python because hes lazy
