Is this Mouth rot?
This is my blue tongue Achilles, He has this spot on his upper lip of abnormal scales that look brownish in color and the lip is slightly raised. i opened his mouth the inside looked pink and healthy on the reverse side of the lip. he has some slimy spit always on the affected area. i'm not sure if it's related but his neck bulges looked bigger than normal but i cant tell if it's just from his weight gain. he gained a bunch of weight when i started implementing some freshpet wet dog food into his meals, it isnt red or inflammed looking. he is eatting/drinking fine. i keep a UVB light on. his substrate is reptile carpet

Anything I'm worried about with my blueys I take them to the vet. Bette safe than sorry and don't want them to be in pain or uncomfortable without you knowing about it or knowing what can be done to help or prevent it in the future

my bluey crackerjack had a similar looking mouth i made a posting about late last month but never got around to posting pictures ...i took him to the vet right away because no offense to any of the members on here- i love asking for advice on topics i want to learn more about in reference to my blueys and other lizards- BUT i want my animals health in my hands and want them to get better ASAP and that to me means a vet visit regardless of what anyone on here tells me- when i post about injuries (twice) i basically ask what i can do until my vet visit...crackerjack hurt himself over the weekend and couldnt get him to the vet til that monday which was agonizing for me....anyways let me get to the point...
crackerjack had a similar injury and had to have injections of antibiotics to heal him up so id say go to the vet ASAP may not be mouth rot but could still need medical treatment

Re: Is this Mouth rot?
While is doesn't look like mouth rot to me, it still looks like something weird is going on. I saw something similar when a bluey had a little splinter of bedding stuck in his lip. It got very infected and caused all kinds of other complications. I would bring it to a vet just in case and suggest a swab for mouth rot along with an exam with a high power magnifier to make sure it's not something stuck in the lip. Good luck!

Update***** the brown spot is no longer slimy and looks more like a scab.it doesnt bother him when touched and his neck bulges still. Remain looking normal. Maybe i just cut his food to big and it cut him.
