Impaction sighns and help

I think I have finally gotten to the bottom of noams problems

He might be inpacted or dehydrated

He seems to lick food that I give him, and was drinking a lot tonight

I switched out his aspen with paper towel to make sure

Any other ideas. Help

If you think he is impacted, take him to a vet. Right away.

Have you researched impaction? What makes you think that? And why would he be dehydrated and why would it have similar symptoms to impaction? I don't understand that connection there...

He doesn't have severe symptoms
Just not eating food, and lack of pooping

Did you try the things I told you in the other thread? Did you give him a lukewarm bath? Do you have any reason to think he might be impacted? Is he straining to poop?

If he isn't eating and isn't pooping, take him to a vet. I'm not sure what you mean by 'not severe symptoms' - if he appears to be impacted then no one online can help, you need to go see a qualified reptile vet.

If he hasn't eaten in a while because he has other things on his mind and THAT is the reason he isn't pooping, well, that's different. It's normal not to poop if they aren't eating.

That's pretty common "symptoms" this time of year with brumation. As Kat said, impaction is very serious and needs to be addressed by a qualified vet.

Has he been eating recently? Has he eaten quite a bit and hasn't pooped? Or has he hardly eaten lately and that is why he isn't pooping?

K, he has been on aspen breeding for the past 6 months

He is drinking, and actually a lot today
He hasn't eaten a lot of food lately and hasn't passed a boil movement his abdomen shot is here
Underbelly has no abnormal spots or couloirs

You won't be able to tell visually, but if he isn't eating then that is the reason he isn't pooping (as long as the not eating has been going on longer than the not pooping). If he hasn't been eating lately then there is nothing for him to pass, so no worried about not pooping. If he has eaten quite a bit and it hasn't passed in a while, then that is a concern.

Have you ever noticed him straining as if trying to poop, but he can't? It sounds like Brad said - this time of year they tend not to eat much so that's why he isn't pooping. Nothing to poop! So it's normal.

I will try bathing him but he hasn't eaten a lot, a very minimal amount through the past week but is drinking

Not eating equals nothing to poop,sounds like normal behaviour for this time of year there,water makes white urates at best,not poop so even if its drinking alot,unless its eating eating it will be a long tong time between poops,even if they are active,which is normal for tropical reptiles if they are brumaring even with heat supplied,they sense its cooler and shut down,eg no intererest or lack lustre interest in food
