What species is this?

Any ideas? I'm after a merauke.

It's not the best picture since we can't see the body. Based on what I can see it looks like a Merauke hybrid. Merauke/I.J.?
That's my noob stab at it.

It's hard to see from the angle, but it looks like it has thin bands. That and the speckled front legs make me lean towards Merauke. I'd probably email the guy and ask for more pictures.

Based on both scalation AND the markings on this skink, I would call it a merauke, even without seeing better pictures of it. There are a couple of things that don't fit perfectly into the description of a merauke, but neither of them is extreme enough to make me question whether or not this skink is a merauke.

The two things are the spots on the throat, and the minor black marks around some of the head scales. Neither of these things disqualifies a skink from being a merauke, but in the scientific descriiption of T.g.e., the throat of a merauke is described as "usually immaculate". minor marking on the throat is permitted, but it is less common than a completely clean throat.

The black marks on the head are definitely in the acceptable range for a merauke as well. It's just that the less black, or any other color marks on the head, the better when it comes to identifying a merauke.
